Serving Tibetans in exile since 2005

Through education, a culture endures.

The Tashi Pendey Foundation cares for Tibetan children, elders, and families in exile — upholding a heritage of compassion and wisdom.

Our Mission

Compassion and wisdom, upheld through education.

Tibetan culture has at its heart the development and preservation of compassion and wisdom. Through education, that culture can flourish and be upheld — without it, we risk its fading.

Our foremost priority is the wellbeing and education of Tibetans, especially children — helping them grow into professionals who can, in turn, benefit the wider community. And we do this not out of pity, but out of kinship — because the experience of being alive is common to us all, and yet unique to each one of us.

Our Story

A simple dream: to help others.

Venerable Dhondup Gyaltsen was happiest when he could make others happy — and he had a very soft heart.

Seeing young and old Tibetans struggle in India, he resolved to do something. He wanted to give them an education and ease their living. Whenever anyone needed help, he sprang into action without hesitation.

He founded the Tashi Pendey Foundation in 2005. With the kindness and support of sponsors, it has since helped countless families, elders, and their children — and continues to this day.
